If you are a practicioner in the laws of attraction and prosperity you are going to love this session with Marilyn Jenett! If you have not yet learned to practice the laws of attraction and prosperity and are the least bit curious you MUST attend this session – taking place at 7pm Eastern Time today (online via a phone conference line and in our web conference room). FYI – Marilyn’s session was rescheduled from last week.
 Here’s the scoop:

Let the Universe Be Your Guide – Using the Laws of Attraction to Get Major Media Coverage with Marilyn Jenett
Imagine this scenario for a moment…
You have made the bold decision to become an entrepreneur and start your own business. You know that you have to find a way to get the word out and get exposure to attract clients. But you have no experience in public relations, marketing or publicity. You don’t know anyone in these fields and even if you did, well…the budget isn’t there. The only thing on your side is your business idea and the prosperity principles that you have been studying which brought you this far and gave you the confidence to take this step.
A couple of months later, you see yourself in a feature cover story in the Los Angeles Times. Then publications around the nation and world call you to request more photos after you discover that Associated Press released the story. Television and radio stations call. You receive thousands of phone calls and the clients are coming and your business is on the map! You continue to attract unsolicited media exposure over time, but then one day a business publication calls to sell you advertising. You tell them that you don’t advertise but ask if you can write an article for their paper. So you write your very first article and it grosses $250,000 for your business!
Your “15 minutes of fame†turns into a 20-year career during which you attract the world’s largest corporations as clients. You still don’t know anything about public relations, publicity or marketing.  This was Marilyn Jenett’s story. In this session, she’ll share details on how she did it using principles she now teaches in her Feel Free to Prosper program. You’ll meet your master publicist – the Universe!

Paul and Francine were FANTASTIC!
Special thanks to Francine Kizner and Paul Hartunian for the excellent interviews today. Each of them shared their wisdom and expertise in how to get FREE Publicity, how to write for major magazines and how to get known in your part of the world! Here are just a few highlights:
Francine shared:
The importance of getting to know the publications you want to write for. She told our listeners that too often the articles were too consumer oriented and not really geared toward her audience at Entrepreneur.com and WomenEntrepreneur.com. Although neither site is currently looking for regular columnists they are interested in receiving story ideas that are new, interesting and innovative.
Francine talked about the blogs on WomenEntrepreneur and their popularity. And that from time to time the 20 bloggers are looking for guest bloggers to add to the conversation.
She shared one story of success about the Author of the 10 Traits of Successful Women (http://www.womenentrepreneur.com/article/1330.html) and how after that article aired, she started getting calls to speak all over the country. This is just one example of how a great article appearing in the right place at the right time can turn into multiple PR and media opportunities and grow a business.
Francine said the best way to go about submitting work is to email womenpitches (at) entrepreneur.com with your story idea, a brief intro and why you feel it would be a good fit for either Entrepreneur.com or WomenEntrepreneur.com.
All this and more!
Paul shared:Â
His story about how he sold the Brooklyn Bridge – by using the system he created and finding just the right NEWS story as his “hook” and then following through with a press release that grabbed the attention of reporters from around the world!Â
The only purpose of a press release is to get the attention of the reporter.. nothing more! That includes not selling anything!Â
Paul said the biggest mistake most people make it making it about them and not about the readers!
He gave some great examples of how anybody and any topic can garner publicity, even dust bunnies
.
Frequency and professionalism are extremely important in order to “grab” the attention of the reporters. If it doesn’t look like a press release, the media won’t take you seriously! PERIOD!
He also mentioned 4 hot publicity tips that are 100% legit including “Claiming your title,” “using surveys to get attention,” Align yourselves with a non-profit” and “get your column up and running.”
Paul is availalbe for coaching and has excellent resources at his site www.milliondollarpublicity.com

Hear Paul Hartunian Live at 4pm Eastern time tomorrow!

Paul Hartunian is North America’s leading expert on obtaining mountains of free publicity for their businesses. He has shown thousands of people how to use publicity to get customers and rocket businesses to all time highs, and even become celebrities in their own marketplace. “Every person on this planet can get tremendous amounts of free publicity for any product, service cause or issue. They just have to be taught the simple steps to take…and then take them”, according to Dr. Paul Hartunian.Â
Paul Hartunian is a wiz at showing people how to get mountains of free publicity for their online and offline businesses. He has shown thousands of people how to use publicity to make sales, get leads, rocket businesses to all time highs, and even become celebrities. His techniques require no special skills, no “insider contacts,” and little or no money. Paul and his publicity students have been featured on the Phil Donahue Show, the Jenny Jones Show, To Tell the Truth, the Regis Philbin Show, Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show, Smart Money, CNN News, Forbes, Changing Times, Redbook, New Jersey Monthly, Money magazine, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, and over 1,000 other radio and TV talk shows.  And yes, he really did sell the Brooklyn Bridge! “Anyone can duplicate what I’ve done. Not only will I prove that statement, I’ll teach people exactly what to do and how to do it, so they can prove it to themselves.”Â
In his talk “How to Get $1 Million Worth of Publicity…FREE!”, Paul teaches his audience, step by step, how they can get mountains of free publicity.Â
He reveals the secret to getting on the Sally, Oprah and the other “majors”.Â
He tells the audience how to conduct themselves during an interview so they not only make a substantial amount of money, but they’re also asked back to do it again!Â
He tells them how he made $400,000 with just one hour of work, thanks to the media.Â
But, more importantly, he shows the audience how to duplicate what he’s done by teaching them the special method he’s developed for getting media coverage.Â
“I don’t care if a person has a little ice cream shop in a tiny town or if he has a huge, multinational corporation. I can teach them how to get publicity that will boost their bottom lines while making them mini-celebrities.”

Today has been another remarkable, information rich day for everyone who attended the Women’s Media Summit.
We began our day with an interview with Christine Louise Holbaum of PressKit24/7 – She called in from her home in Germany and shared some great tips about how to manage our media message and giving us great examples from companies who do it well, such as Nike’s “Just Do It” to everyday folks like Dr. Bissoon who wrote a book called “The Cellulite Cure.” She talked about creating an online press kit, a radio one-pager and gave examples of great story ideas we can learn from in our quest to pitch the media.
Next up was Penny Haynes of 1st Podcast Publishing who shared how to syndicate our how Internet Radio or TV show. Penny shared interesting statistics – for instance, did you know that 60% of viral ads initiated by advertisers are video and that 43% of US online video viewers get videos by clicking on links in email messages from people they know. What does that mean to us? It means that we need to be using video to get our message out to our target audience and to the media. She talked about the simplicity of creating your own video including the low start-up costs. In fact there are lots of great resources which are FREE to use and you can have a video in no time.
We were delighted and honored to interview Samantha Ettus, the creator of the bestselling Experts’ Guides series who shared her story about how she got celebrities to write chapters in her book, how she approaches the experts, selects them, works with them and what prompted her to write the first book in the first place. Samantha also talked about how we can use our personal brand to garner media attention and shared some great resources with our guests.
Marilyn Jenett was due to speak next and was unable to be with us. – Not to worry, we will reschedule her session and let you know when that will take place. So instead of cancelling the hour with our guests we had an enlightening and interesting hour interviewing attendees about their media successes, projects they were working on and the principles of the Laws of Attraction. Special thanks to Roy Montero for suggesting the session, to Julia Rhodes for sharing her experiences with taking her dry erase eraser to market, and to Catherine Franz of Abundance Center for carrying on a great conversation on the laws of attraction. In fact, as I write this (8:31pm Eastern Time) the conversation is still going strong….
So if you are interested in listening to any of these sessions or the ones to come, you an register and receive access to all the audio files, workbooks, handouts and powerpoint presentations that were shared with all.

Want to know how to make the Most out of Radio Interview Opportunities? Here’s an article I found a good Q & A article in Entrepreneur.com called Publicize Your Business With Radio Interviews by Al Lautenslager: Guerrilla Marketing. (Although it was published some time ago, the information is still relavant today)
“Q: How can I generate PR by radio interviews, and what do I say if I get one?
A: Just like the publishing of your press release in a publication, radio PR is free advertising. And just like PR in a publication, some of the same considerations must be given to radio PR. In a publication, a directed press release needs to be newsworthy. At the least, it has to be of interest to the readership of the publication. In radio, a radio interview must be of interest to the “listenership.” You don’t interview a business author on a home and gardening show. You don’t interview a public official on a technology and computer show. And just like publication PR, interviews and news items are generated by press releases-so don’t forget to add your local radio stations to your press release distribution list.”
To read the rest of the article, visit: Â http://www.entrepreneur.com/marketing/publicrelations/prbasics/article65172.html.
Here’s a great article that complements the one above, that I recommend you read “MEDIA TRAINING TIPS” by Annie Jennings of Annie Jennings PR.
Here’s the link: http://www.anniejenningspr.com/pages/mediatraining.htm
And be sure to join us tomorrow at 2 PM for another great session with Sherryl Lin Haldy of Voice America / Modavox - we will be talking about “The Inside Scoop on Getting on Radio.”
If you’ve always wanted to get on radio or if you want MORE exposure on RADIO, be sure to join us for this important and information-rich session.

Hi Heidi.
After enjoying a wonderful interview in which I shared “How to Create a Search Engine Optimized SEO Press Release”, I’d like to follow-up on a few of the questions and issues posed during and after my presentation:
1. I shared its equally important that you have a local media list so you can send a quick email when your SEO Press Release is distributed. I recommended that you copy and paste the press release into the body of your email, and share a link to the various press release distribution centers that published your press release. But, I didn’t share how to create that local media list.
Since I just moved back to CT last month, after living in OH for 5 years, I am literally walking-my-walk and follow my own advise in a guest post I wrote at Start Up Princess entitled, Create A Local Media List While You’re Running Errands
http://startupprincess.com/wordpress/create-a-local-media-list-while-youre-running-errands/
2. Fortunately, many CT’s media contacts recall who I am; but they are familar with my role as a public health administrator, so I’m off to educate and empower them with my present entrepreneurial roles. Lost as to how you can actually write weekly press releases? Well, in my follow-up post at Start Up Princess, I shared another post entitled, What News Can I Share with the Local Media on a Weekly Basis?
http://startupprincess.com/wordpress/what-news-can-i-share-with-the-local-media-on-a-weekly-basis/
3. While my free eBook [ http://www.empowerwomennow.com/seo-press-release.htm ]
is written directly around the benefits and services of PRWeb.com, we discussed the benefits and possible flaws in using only PRWeb in our discussions today.
My tip, as with everything in life, is to “Diversify”! Do not put all your eggs in one basket!
Try one of the other 50+ online press release distribution centers [ http://empowerwomennow.com/news-women-entrepreneurs/index.php/press-release-distribution-service-the-ultimate-list/ ], and please share your results, successes and failures! Just keep learning, test and track always, and keep our dialogue alive.
One of the greatest aspects of gaining media coverage (online *and* offline) is your ability to be flexible, creative, open-minded, willingness to test and try any and all proven methods, AND experiment with new ones!
Feel free to contact me at anytime [ http://empowerwomennow.com/news-women-entrepreneurs/index.php/contact/ ] if I can further this wonderful conversation!
To our continued success & empowerment,
Ponn

“People believe what is written about us much more than they believe the things we write about ourselves.” Heidi Richards

Today I have been busy doing busy work when I should have been writing about the Women’s Media Summit and the incredible day we had yesterday. Truth be told, I have been avoiding writing a post. and it’s not because of the quality of information. The information shared by our experts was far beyond even MY expectations. It is because there was so much valuable sharing going on that it has taken me all day just to let it sink in – so I could wrap my mind around the information and wrap my right hand on the mouse…. and get both hands on the keyboard.
Here are just a few of the highlights:
The day began with Ponn Sabra of EmpowerWomenNow.com sharing her ideas about “How to create a web-optimized media release.” And did she do some sharing!  Ponn had so many great tips and examples for our guests, my writing hand was sore from taking notes. Ponn talked about the importance of building your portfolio, about how many words a web optimized press release should contain (350-600), how to write for the audience instead of to the audience (the WIIFM), and she inspired me with a new tagline for the WECAI Networkâ„¢.  In fact, the next post will be Ponn’s response to her session. STAY TUNED!
Next up was Catherine Franz of Abundance Center. Catherine talked about “Developing Your Media Platform Using a Storyboard… and More!”  She talked about the history of storyboards, how creating one can be extremely helpful in pitching the media, and the steps involved in creating ours. She gave great examples, templates we can adapt to our own media and public relations needs and more.
Our next scheduled speaker was Sherryl Lin Haldy from Voice America – her session was rescheduled for Tuesday, October 23rd at 2:00 pm Eastern Time.
Since we found ourselves with a little time on our hands in between sessions, Roy Montero of Verbal Networking and Iwon.net volunteered (coerced may be more accurate) to do an improptu Q & A on blogging best practices, plug-ins and more. It was great because many of the attendees shared their favorite plug-ins, tips and ideas. Roy was happy to answer questions and give some great advice! Thank you ROY!
Annie Jennings and Stacy Amaral of Annie Jennings PR did a Smashing job of delivering “PR Strategies to Become a Smash Hit Business Success.” And after their program, Annie gave everyone a link to 12 of her most popular Media, Marketing and PR Interviews! You have to register to get access to this….
This was followed by Annie Jennings and Jason Kaufman having a wonderful discussion about “working with the media to make it work for your success.” Again, dozens of great ideas, exceptional advice and more! Annie Jennings and her team at Annie Jennings PR really are the PR Firm that’s ALL HEART!
Nancy Juetten of Main Street Media Savvy was the perfect day end speaker with her presentation: ”The Deadly sins of do-it-yourself publicity and why to avoid them.” Nancy showed us just what sins we need to avoid in order to get the media’s attention and trust. She gave us great tips of when to call (or not) the media – that certain times of day and days of week are the “kiss of death” to any potential media opportunity. She ended her session by giving attendees a great offer on her “Media Savvy-to-Go Publicity Toolkit.
We ended the day with great conversation, networking and lots of laughter! I just hope the sound track doesn’t end up on the Internet (Roy, that means you). Just kidding! Of course… maybe not! We also gave away 10 prizes and everyone left happier, smarter and more connected. SWEET!Â
Thank you to all the experts we have had so far, each of whom have gone above and beyond! I am really looking forward to the next few days… we still have 9 experts who are going to share even more Media marketing and PR strategies to get the attention of the media… and more!
Here’s the schedule: http://womensmediasummit.com/schedule/.
BTW, we have added a couple more presentations that have not yet been listed… we are up to 19 experts!
And in case you were wondering, it’s not too late to register! Because you will have access to all the audio files of any session you missed… and the price is right! $27 if you are a member of the WECAI Networkâ„¢ and only $57 for non-members. You can register at: http://womensmediasummit.com/register/
Hope to see you next week!
